MEDIA RELEASE: Uniting Church Synod welcomes Government's announcement of a national redress scheme

Rev. Myung Hwa Park, Moderator of the Uniting Church in Australia, Synod of NSW and the ACT has welcomed the Federal Government’s announcement of a national redress scheme for survivors of child sexual abuse in institutions.
“It is vital that survivors can access a consistent, fair and uniform approach to redress.
“We are committed to actively contributing to the healing and justice process for survivors of child sexual abuse.
“We look forward to working with the Government to develop a national scheme,” said Rev. Myung Hwa Park.
The Uniting Church Synod of NSW and the ACT interim redress scheme established in 2015 is available for survivors until the Government scheme is up and running.
