An important announcement on staff working from home during the unfolding COVID-19 pandemic from the General Secretary

Synod leadership have been preparing for work from home options, as part of our responsible business management plan during the developing COVID-19 outbreak. I write to advise you that working from home commences today, 16/03/20 – 30/3/20.

All staff at the Synod Office and UFS at 222 Pitt St, as well as CFM and UTC are affected by this notification.

Please note this is not about self-isolation, unless a staff member is affected by COVID-19 and is required by NSW Public Health to do so. The decision has been made to mitigate the risk of infection. Many companies are now taking these steps to help curb the spread of COVID-19.

Synod and UME operations will be BUSINESS AS USUAL but as a remote workforce. This is a temporary closure. The Synod will not shut down. Synod leadership will assess the situation as information unfolds from the Department of Health.

We anticipate a period of two weeks initially, however the Synod Executive will remain vigilant, reviewing the situation on a daily basis, and will be in touch if the work from home needs to be extended beyond 30/03/20.

The Synod will continue to monitor the public health advice and act in the best interest of our workforce, our communities and the broader health of the people of NSW and ACT.

Importantly the Synod will:

  • Communicate across the Synod as the information unfolds
  • Keep information up to date on the Synod website at nswact.uca.org.au
