Contributions to the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability are sought

The Church is actively contributing to the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability, (“the Commission”) on both a National level through Uniting Care Australia and at a Synod level. 

Uniting and Wesley Mission will shortly be providing the Commission with a wealth of information and views in response to requests made the Commission. 

The Commission has released nine Issues Papers to date and responses are required by the dates outlined below:

The Synod through Uniting Care Australia is submitting a formal response to the following Issues Papers: Emergency Planning and Response; Rights and Attitudes; and First Nations People with Disability Issues Papers and would welcome your contribution. 

We seek personal submissions and if you would like to contribute we would ask that you please email Michael Cooper michaelc@NSWACT.uca.org.au with your contribution. If you prefer make submission directly to the Royal Commission go to this link .

Although the formal response date for the first four Issue Papers have passed the Commission still welcomes comments on all the Papers.
