Head of Mission Enablement
Uniting Mission and Education (UME), a Board of the Uniting Church in Australia, Synod of NSW and the ACT, seeks applications from leaders with appropriate qualifications, gifts, skills and experience to lead a team of mission facilitators working across the Church in NSW and the ACT.
The role involves prioritising resources to work with the regional bodies of the Church to renew mission focus within congregations to enable transformative community engagement.
As a key mission leader of the Church, the Head of Mission Enablement will contribute leadership in relation to mission across NSW and the ACT, under the oversight of the Uniting Mission and Education Board.
Reporting to the Executive Director, this role will lead a team of Mission Facilitators and as a member of the UME Leadership Team, share in a broad responsibility to grow the capacity of the Uniting Church in leadership, discipleship, ministry and mission.
The successful applicant will have theological, leadership and other relevant experience, skills and qualifications to enable:
- oversight of projects that mobilise the gifts and talents of committed staff and volunteers;
- development and delivery of rigorous, evidence-based strategies to build on strengths and opportunities to build mission capacity in the Uniting Church;
- effective organising across our regional councils, congregations, missions, schools and other Uniting Church agencies; and
- capacity to collaborate authentically across the theological, social, ethnic and generational diversity of our multicultural and inclusive church, and within our covenant with the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress.
