Deputy General Secretary – Uniting Church Western Australia
The Uniting Church Western Australia is seeking a visionary and strategically oriented person to work with the General Secretary to provide collaborative leadership in partnership with Presbyteries, Agencies and Schools.
- Provide pastoral and missional leadership to the whole Church by actively engaging in theological reflection and strategic thinking about the life, direction, vision and mission of every part of the Uniting Church WA.
- Ensure the implementation of agreed key directional, strategic and missional imperatives.
- Direct responsibility for the following areas:
- Any other delegated responsibility from the General Secretary.
The successful applicant will be a member of the leadership team of the Uniting Church WA, seeking to support the ministry, mission and planning directions of the whole Church.
Applicants need to be members of the Uniting Church in Australia (Lay or Ordained), passionate about and committed to the Church and God’s mission in the world, and, as such, would be a person of prayer with a commitment to Jesus’ call to make disciples.
We expect the successful applicant to have a driving desire to make a difference and to have a commitment to work ecumenically.
Applicants must have at least a Bachelors degree in Theology. It is expected that the applicant will be ordained or be qualified to be admitted to Ministry of Pastor. As such, the position is considered as a placement in the Uniting Church in Australia.
It would be desirable for the applicant to have a management qualification or commensurate management experience.
